Virginia Carney
Virginia is an adjunct Managing Director for GBA with a focus on Export Control. She is an independent consultant while working with GBA. Her experience is summarized:
Virginia has been working in the international trading/export business for 25 years. She started out working at the Pentagon as the Special Assistant, Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Plans and Policy Directorate and has worked her way up to her most recent title of Director, Export Compliance at Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium.
She has had many accomplishments since she started her career. She has acted as primary liaison on international trade issues between Consortium member companies and U.S. government agencies, created export compliance procedures and training program for consortium of defense, aerospace, communications and IT companies, directed export licensing and compliance program for major UK-owned aerospace firm with over 20 US defense manufacturing facilities, implemented web-based export compliance program, complete with electronic license filing capabilities and export license tracking database, and has personally pushed multi-million dollar export licenses through government licensing channels, enabling win of major defense contracts among many other things.
Virginia graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Political Science
She has also had training in Secret Security Clearance; DSS Security Program Management Course
