Dr. Alexander J. Edappalli
Senior Managing Director, President and CEO of Global Petroleum Construction Company
Dr. Alexander Edappalli is an Engineer by Profession who graduated in the year 1976 in electrical engineering with elective in Power Transmission and Distribution, and thereafter specialized in Instrumentation. He has been in United Arab Emirates since September 13, 1977 till date and has been working with the ADNOC group of companies in the construction, installation and commissioning of all types of process utilities, gas lift platforms, wellhead platforms and accommodation platforms for offshore in the Gulf Region. Dr. Alexander has been in this group for 22 years starting as a project co-coordinator progressing from a Project Engineer to Project Manager and Project Director.
During the 22 years of service with ADNOC group he was seconded for 1 year to develop the Zuluf Fields under ARAMCO, Saudi Arabia (Zuluf Tie-in platforms 3 & 4), 1 year again seconded to develop AOC - Arabian Oil Company, located in Al Khafji which is in the neutral zone between Kuwait & Saudi Arabia (for installation, commissioning of Gas Lift Platforms). He then spent 4 years to develop the Qatar Gas, Qatar Liquefaction and Ras Lafan projects where he installed & commissioned gas lift platforms and well head platform as well as the laying of submarine pipelines and submarine cables including testing and commissioning.
Dr. Alexander then spent another 4 years to develop ONGC - Oil & Natural Gas Commission of India where he installed & commissioned gas lift platforms and well head platforms, including laying of submarine pipelines and submarine cables, refurbishment and maintenance and modification works on existing facilities, and commissioning and startup of the facilities.
All other remaining periods I have been based in Abu Dhabi to carry out major construction, installation and commissioning works for ADNOC group for Umm Shaif, Umm Al Dakh, UDECO, Zakum Fields, TOTAL fields etc.
Currently Dr. Alexander is the Senior Energy Advisor to GBA and is the Managing Director, CEO for Global Petroleum Construction Company and other group of companies based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Alexander has amassed many accolades during his career to include an officially nominated member of WHOs WHO as listed in the WHO's WHO WORLD DIRECTORY published in 2006 from the United States of America. He is also part of the official delegation to the offshore technology conference (OTC) at Houston every year nominated by the US Embassy based in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Alexander has developed an amazing network for product, and via his over 3 decades of work in this industry has “seen it all”. He is straight forward in his business dealings and is an leading member and senior advisor to the GBA Energy Resources Team.
